About Me
Since the age of seven, I've attended my parents' performing arts school, Diverse. Some of my fondest memories are of the 'Flash mobs' we'd perform in malls, having the time of our lives. I realised that I wanted to perform professionally when I watched. The annual Diverse show and the older boys performed a Brothers' trio. I felt so jealous that I wasn't in it, and I knew that's what I was meant to do.
My passion is and always has been musical theatre. I have always loved acting and acting through song. One of the first shows I performed as a mini was a little school skit with the song 'ABC'; ever since that performance, I was hooked! Since then, my passion and training has grown immensely. From one mini-musical theatre class weekly to training 18 hours a week in musical theatre, drama, singing and many dance styles. I am a vocational level, full-time performing arts level 3 BTEC for which I have gained full distinctions over the 1st year. I am pushing hard to maintain the total distinction pass rate in my 2nd year.
Beyond my acting and singing training, dance has always been a massive part of my theatre upbringing. Dance has taught me how to be disciplined, work well as part of a team, and go full out all the time, even when exhausted. I train in all styles, including jazz, tap, ballet, commercial, lyrical, contemporary, and modern. Although I love all styles, the commercial is my all-time favourite, with jazz coming in a close second. This comes from my Mum and Dad, maybe. My Dad was a commercial dancer when he was younger, and my Mum was a musical theatre dancer. So the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
While training at Diverse, I was involved in many productions, playing comedic roles (my favourite) and dramatic roles, which I enjoy getting my teeth into. I have played many leading roles in my training here in Dubai, so it is hard to choose a favourite… Playing the lead role of Sam in 'Mamma Mia' was a highlight for me as it was the first time I got to play a 'senior' lead, and I felt I gained much maturity while growing in that role. One of the most challenging roles I have played in a show was Robbie Hart in 'The Wedding Singer'. Robbie was a fun part to play because I was on stage the whole time. The mix of both sides of his personality in one performance was great to play. I have also brought the nasty, twisted mind of 'Reecey' in 'Our House' to the stage and the flamboyant 'Toulouse Lautrec' in 'Moulin Rouge'. Another fun part to play was Kenickie in 'Grease'. I particularly enjoyed this role as it was a full triple-threat role. I loved the opportunity to push myself in all three genres.
I thoroughly enjoy the variety that musical theatre can bring into my life. And I take pleasure in having the opportunity to play so many different characters that I am nothing like in real life.
I have had so many unique opportunities to dance professionally in Dubai. Some of which still blows my mind! In 2019, when I was 13 years old. I danced for Jason Derulo at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in Abu Dhabi through AMCK. Then, last year, NKCA returned to Abu Dhabi for the 2nd time. I auditioned successfully to dance for the amazing Jessie J! I've performed in a TVC alongside Big Shaq (Shaquille O'Neil) for Yas Island. One of the most fun things I have done as a dancer/singer was successfully performing in BGT in 2024. We got a standing ovation and four yeses! I had food poisoning on the day we performed, so it was tough. I had to sing solo and dance full-out, then run off stage and throw into a bucket. The show must go on, and it was ultimately one of the best moments of 2024! My biggest goal in life is to be a successful musical theatre singer/actor. Dance will always play a huge part in everything I do, too.
Throughout my training, I've taken every opportunity to grow as a performer, including volunteering to assist junior students in their musical theatre classes. I love helping the little ones learn how fun and magical musical theatre and dance can be.
Ultimately, my biggest goal is to become a triple-threat musical theatre performer. I see myself as a well-rounded performer and aim to keep building on the foundations I have made here and growing even more to become the best performer I can be. I also have a passion for TV and film. I'm a huge movie fan. , I would like to use my theatre training to broaden my skill set by acting in TV/Film.
